Privacy Policy — SafeOne

SafeOne ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal safety application published by Tejovan Labs (Seraikela-Kharsawan, Jharkhand, India). This policy explains what data the app uses, how it is used, and your choices. Contact: safeeonee@gmail.com.

Summary

• SafeOne does not have a server. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data with us or any third party.
• All your data (emergency contacts, app-lock PIN, safety log, recordings) stays on your device.
• The only time information leaves your device is when an SOS, check-in or location update is sent — as a text message from your phone, directly to the emergency contacts you chose. Nothing is ever sent to us.
• You can delete all of your data at any time (see Deleting your data).

Information the app uses (all on-device)

Location. Used to build a Google Maps link included in the SOS / check-in / "Follow Me" message you send. With your permission, location may be read in the background so hands-free SOS and safety check-in can include your location when the app is closed or the screen is locked. Location is never uploaded to us or any server.

Emergency contacts. Names/phone numbers you enter are stored locally and used only to address your safety messages. The app does not read your phone's contact list.

SMS messages. If you allow the SMS permission, SafeOne sends your safety messages as text messages directly from your phone to each emergency contact you added — one message per contact, using your own mobile plan. It sends only when you trigger an SOS (including a hands-free trigger), when a safety check-in runs out without you confirming you're safe, or while live location sharing that you started is on. SafeOne never reads or receives your messages, and message content is never sent to us. If you don't allow the permission, SafeOne instead opens your Messages app with the text filled in for you to send.

Microphone / audio recordings. Optional audio-evidence recordings are saved as files on your device only and are not uploaded.

Camera. Used only for features you initiate; captured media stays on your device.

App-lock PIN and biometrics. Your PIN is stored only as a salted, hashed value in the device's secure storage — never plain text, never transmitted. Fingerprint verification is handled entirely by Android; the app never receives your fingerprint data.

Safety log. Stored locally; you can export or clear it anytime.

Information we do NOT collect

No analytics, advertising identifiers, crash data, usage data, account information, or any personal data on our servers. No ads, no third-party trackers.

Permissions and why they are used

• SMS (send only) — send your SOS and location updates directly to your emergency contacts.
• Location (incl. background) — include your location in safety messages.
• Microphone — optional audio-evidence recording.
• Camera — optional evidence / QR capture.
• Foreground service — keep hands-free SOS triggers active when locked.
• Exact alarm / full-screen intent / notifications — deliver the scheduled fake call and safety check-in alerts on time, even when the app is closed.
• Biometric — unlock the app lock.
• Boot completed — restart safety monitoring after a reboot if you enabled it.

Children

SafeOne is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Deleting your data

Because all data lives only on your device, you are in full control of it and we hold no copy. You can delete it at any time:

• Safety log — open the safety log in the app and tap Clear all.
• Everything — go to Android Settings → Apps → SafeOne → Storage → Clear storage, or simply uninstall SafeOne. This permanently removes your contacts, PIN, recordings, settings and log.
